Bylta – USA dates

Bylta, the collaboration between Tinna and Alli Hoag, glass artist, goes on US tour with a brand new show; Sending, at the end of May 2017. Bylta intertwines glass blowing, electronics, visual art and sound. Hong Kong New Music Ensemble – Module 7

Residency April 11-17 with Hong Kong New Music Ensemble in collaboration with Cycle Music and Art Festival in Iceland. Workshop with art students and artists from Iceland and Hong Kong. Concert with Trajectories by Anna Thorvaldsdottir and Sigurdur Gudjónsson and 283° by Áki Ásgeirsson among other works created in the workshop. Concert with works by Karólína Eiríksdóttir

Concert with works by Karólína Eiríksdóttir on Saturday February 25th at 4 pm in the Culture House. Various works which were written for mezzo-soprano Ásgerdur Júníusdóttir, a longtime collaborator with Karólína. Performers alongside Ásgerdur are Tinna Thorsteinsdóttir, piano, Gudrún Hrund Hardardóttir, viola and Matthías Nardeau, oboe. Composer Hjálmar H. Ragnarsson will lead a discussion with the composer. Two song cycles will have their Iceland premiere, written to poems by Sjón and Steinunn Sigurdardóttir.

Symposium on Animated Notation

Symposium on Animated Notation Centre for Research in Music (CRiM – Iceland Academy of the Arts) in collaboration with Dark Music Days organises a symposium on animated music notation. As Karólína Eiríksdóttir´s opera MagnusMaria will have continuing new performances this fall at the City Theatre in Stockholm and the National Opera in Helsinki, Ásgerdur Júníusdóttir, mezzo-soprano and Tinna will give two concerts with Karólína´s works during that period. Ásgerdur sings one of the leading parts in the opera and together with Tinna they will premiere a new song cycle; a dream-song from the south sea, which Karólína composed especially for them to new poetry by author Sjón. Symposium with Sjón

Symposium with Icelandic author Sjón, who was awarded the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2005. Panel discussion with the author and music performed with works composed to Sjón´s poetry. The song cycle Night Poems by Atli Heimir Sveinsson will be premiered, songs by Björk and Ragnhildur Gísladóttir. Performers are Ásgerdur Júníusdóttir, mezzo-soprano and Tinna. Tinna dwelles at the S12 Galleri og Verksted in Bergen, Norway finalizing a new glass- and sound work with Æsa Björk, glass artist, in the period of August 14-26. Jónas Tómasson, composer is turning 70 this year with two celebrational concerts. The first one on the summer eve of July 26th at the Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum at 8pm30. The second in Hamrar, Ísafjördur on July 28th at 8 pm. Tinna performs the piano works Jökla, Embla and Toy Polka by Jónas.
